Cinema management software for the global motion picture market and founder of the Vista Group International Vista Entertainment Solutions has signed an agreement with Filmhouse Cinemas in Nigeria.
Under the terms of the agreement, Filmhouse Cinemas will launch the Vista Cinema Software on all ten 43-screen cinema sites throughout Nigeria. The project will start immediately and should be completed by December 2017.
Filmhouse Cinemas has the largest market share in the Nigerian cinema market and operates the only IMAX cinema in West Africa.
Kene Okwuosa, Deputy General Manager of Filmhouse Cinemas Group, has expressed his pleasure at the partnership with Vista. “We are very happy to start this new journey. With his amazing team, Vista brings a whole new world of features that will enhance our audience’s cinematic experience. Filmhouse’s commitment to staying innovative and leading the way in market leadership requires the support of partners such as Vista to deliver on our strategies. ”
Significantly, Nigeria is the world’s second largest market in terms of produced films; In 2016, a total of $ 8.32 million was raised at the box office, which is a record high for Nigeria.
Vista Cinema CEO Kimbal Riley says the agreement is very important for Vista. “With the largest population of all African countries, Nigeria is the fastest-growing movie-show market on the continent, and the partnership with Filmhouse is important in ensuring that Vista is part of the momentum.”
The new partnership with Filmhouse is due to the London based executive director of Vista Cinema EMEA, Mischa Kay, and his team. “We recently founded Vista South Africa to accommodate the growth of feature film screenings in the region.
This new agreement is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic and ambitious company and reminds us of the importance of this commitment; Filmhouse takes advantage of the opportunities that Nigeria’s fast-growing, thriving middle class offers, and we’re very pleased that our partnership can help them. ”
